Local Bicyclists

Are dangerous to ride with, in my opinion.
You are, more than likely, part of the problem.
What problem?
Road safety.
Do you obey the rules of the road?
It's the law, you know;
-common courtesy.

I was prompted to comment today
because I promised myself that I would...
after witnessing yet another
bicyclist blow through a stop sign.
Of course, he never bothered to signal his turn.

Please be conscious of the people you share
the public roads with and respect the rules...
especially when there are witnesses!

For the most part, I agree. I love riding with the bike club but (unless I'm riding with Bill or a few other CBC riders) I normally fall behind when I stop at stop signs. Many CBC riders fly thru stop signs on club rides, do not use arm turn signs and actually seem more stressed out when they are riding than when they are standing around before a ride. Its like they think they are going to a race or something (oh, maybe thats what they are thinking). I like to ride relatively slow around 14-18 mph, I ride a bike that weights over 30 lbs. (without water bottles) and I actually like to wave to people as I pass them. I'm thinking about having a t-shirt printed up thats reads "My name is Mike but you can call me FRED".
I am the terror that flaps in the night. I am....Darkwing FRED.
