Sunday, July 18.
Powder Springs Loop.
30ish miles.
8:30 a.m. roll out from Greenlife.
15ish mph. (no cue sheet, so hang with the ride leader or YOYO).
Ramble from Greenlife through Downtown out through St. Elmo. Head up Nick-a-Jack (don’t panic; for less than a mile!) to Powder Springs (shady and scenic) on to a screaming downhill to Hwy 193. Meander back through “the ‘hood” to Greenlife. Route has a few long but moderate hills and a stinger or 2, but at a reasonable pace will be quite pleasant. Sunday morning is a great time to do this ride! Very little traffic, cool(er) temps, and a little adventure with good company!
Hang our for lunch at the GL for those interested.
Ride Leader: Amy French, 870-1824
Call for directions, or if weather is iffy.
Rain cancels.

Our ride this week will be our Old Faithful loop in Ooltewah. This will be a great ride for those of you who've never been out with us before. We'll have 2 loops for you...a shorter 18 miler that starts out flat, goes over 5-6 decent rollers, with the rest being typical rolling terrain. The final stretch is on a bit busier road, but you're only on it for about 2 miles and most of it is downhill!
The longer route, 31 miles, is a bit more challenging: more hills, steeper hills, and a good stretch on Birchwood Pike, which can be a bit busier.
To get to the ride, take I-75 north to the Ooltewah exit (#11), turn left at the light back under the freeway. Go through the first light, turn right at the 2nd light (behind the Kangaroo) onto Ooltewah-Georgetown Rd. Follow for 7 miles to the next 4-way stop...park on the right in the old shopping center.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK UP NEXT TO THE BUILDING!!!
Meeting time is 4:45 with ride-out at 5.
The ride is for all levels of riders, but PLEASE know your fitness level and be sure you can do your chosen loop at an average speed of 10-12 mph, without having to make a major rest stop.
Helmets are required!
You will be riding at your own risk
Maps will be provided
Please make sure to have 2 bottles with you
When the weather looks IFY, call us at the shop at 3:30 for the final decision.
Hope you all have a great week and I hope to see you on Sunday!
Take care,
Chris
