in the BLACK FOREST!

This trip
will start in medieval Freiburg, with day trips into vineyards, through rolling
countryside, past towering castles. One day’s route will include part of the Tour de
France 2000 route. Then we head into the Black Forest, where we’ll be based in
mountain villages. From the villages, we’ll have a primary guided tour each day, for
example, a 20-mile off-road ramble past farming villages.
For those
who wish additional challenge, an optional guided ride will be available with greater
distance, hills, speed, technical terrain, or all of the above, for example, a 40-mile
single-track circuit with multiple steep climbs. Those who want to take time off from
cycling can take advantage of an extensive network of hiking trails—or just chill at
our country inn.

Tips, if desired
Prices are based on minimum of 16
participants, so tell your friends!! If fewer than 16 people sign up, any increase in
luggage transfers and guide costs will be distributed across all
participants. To get the group discount on air fare, we need a minimum of 10 participants.
Also, prices for the land portion of the trip are based on the dollar’s exchange rate
with the euro remaining the same. Any significant fluctuation will be factored into the
June 30 balance.

 Sunday, September 14: “Volcano Tour” - Guided bike tour – Freiburg—Tuniberg
vineyards—castle at Breisach—cross Rhine into France to medieval fortress at
Neuf Brisach – Picnic and wine-tasting at a vineyard – Climb the Kaiserstuhl and
bike through medieval wine villages – Overnight at Hotel Kolping, Freiburg
Monday, September 15: “Jungle Tour” - Guided

Reservation,
deposit and payment information
To reserve a place, please send a check
for $200 per person payable to Chattanooga Ski Club (not Bike Club; the Ski Club has been
kind enough to offer their treasury services) to Jim Johnson at 1638 Berkley Circle,
Chattanooga, TN 37405 by February 1. If you're planning to do both trips, please send $300
per person. Interest is high and space is limited, so please send deposits early. On April
30, 50 percent will be due. The balance will be due on June 30, 2003.
If you need to cancel, here's the policy:
Prior to June 30: full amount minus $250
per person per trip
Prior to July 31: full amount minus $500
per person per trip
Prior to August 15: full amount minus
$800 per person per trip
After August 15: no refund
We encourage the purchase of travel insurance.

acting as agent for this tour but is helping to facilitate a group tour for members and
other participants. All terms and conditions are those of the airlines, hotels and/or tour
