Join the Chattanooga Bicycle Club
in the AUSTRIAN ALPS!
September 5-14, 2003
Only $1,395 including airfare
Two-week package with both tours: $2,290 including airfare (see Austrian Alps info)
The TauernradwegTauern Bike
Pathopened about seven years ago and is already one of Europes most popular.
The trip will be designed both for smiley-face riders and for those who prefer a little
extra challenge. The route is almost entirely on an asphalt bike path or small side roads
and runs through a deep, wide mountain valley in the Alps. Much of the route travels
through farmland and small Alpine towns and villages.
Our tour starts in Salzburg, one of the
worlds most enchanting cities. From there, we travel through Bavaria to Kaprun, our
gateway to the Austrian Alps. Daily distances will average only 25-30 miles or so, so we
can sightsee and explore along the way or go hiking when we get to our destination. The
train tracks run parallel to our route for much of the way, and trains provide an
alternative for those who dont feel like riding. Also, although the route is almost
entirely downhill through a wide alpine valley, there are several routes up smaller
valleys that stretch to each side.
