CHATTANOOGA BICYCLE CLUB

Sequatchie Valley Century - Saturday, October 6, 2007

Fall is coming sooner than you think! Some of you are thinking of calling it a bicycling season and staring at the tube until next spring. NO WAY! On Saturday, October 6, 2007, the Chattanooga Bicycle Club presents the Sequatchie Valley Century. Take a ride that's guaranteed to invigorate all of your senses. Pedal along the roads of the beautiful Sequatchie Valley.  Surrounded by mountains, friendly communities and terrific fall scenery, this is a must do event.

The fully supported Sequatchie Valley Century will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007. It will begin and end at Marion County High School in Jasper, TN. The ride will be fully sagged with sweep vehicles for each category and port-a-potties or restrooms available at each sag stop as well as water, sport drink, fruit and other food. A high-quality, long-sleeved T-shirt will be included with registration. This century will offer three options: a full century (100 miles +) with a challenging mountain ascent, a metric century (62 miles +), and a quarter century (25 miles+). The roads will be well marked with a map and cue sheet for backup. Enjoy the incomparable beauty of the Sequatchie Valley with all the amenities.

The registration fee is $30 if postmarked by September 21, 2006; $40 thereafter including the day of the ride.  The fee includes a long-sleeve commemorative t-shirt while supplies last and an after ride meal.  There will be no reorders so register early to guarantee a t-shirt. If you want to bring along a child, ages 0-5 free, 6-12 $10, 12 and up regular fee. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note: Ride packets may be picked up on Friday evening, Oct 5, from 5:00 to 8:00 at Suck Creek Cycle on Cherokee Blvd in Chattanooga's north shore. We will do late registration at this time also. Take Hwy 27 north. Cross the river. Exit at Manning St, just past the river. Go right on Manning St. At the light, go right onto Cherokee Blvd. Suck Creek Cycle is immediately on the left.

Special event in Chattanooga this weekend: Live Bluegrass music will be on the Riverfront at Ross's Landing both Friday, 6:00 - 11:00pm and Saturday, 12:00 - 11:00pm. 423/265-0771
