3-State 3-Mountain
2005 Ride Results
The 2005 3-State 3-Mountain
Challenge was the biggest and most successful event we have had. The weather was
beautiful. With over 1300 participants and 1270 registered riders it set
all records for us. This was the first time we had to turn away folks wanting to
register - and that really hurt. What a great time! And what wonderful
participants. The sight of cyclists stretching as far as you could see was
something to behold. And the switch to Finley Stadium was great. I didn't think
there could be a better venue than the pavilion but I think Finley may actually
be better.
Thanks to all who helped make this
event possible. We couldn't do it without every one of you. The City of
Chattanooga was absolutely wonderful with their support. We had the cones put
out at the end but the crossing guards were a gift from the city. What a
wonderful way to say 'Welcome to Chattanooga'. They were there supporting us all
along the way. With the grand opening of the
waterfront and the Four Bridges Art Festival all happening at the same time,
what a wonderful time to be in Chattanooga.
Note: These results are not exact.
They are the best we could figure out. This is not a race so exact accuracy is
not a high priority. But we know that folks like to compare how they do from
year to year so we do our best. When riders came in as a group and didn't
display their numbers or check back in, we may have missed some. When you don't
give us the route you were on, we have to guess. Also we had a few
duplicate numbers recorded and don't know what the error was. We ran out of
patches before some of you got in. I have ordered some more and will send them
to you when the get here. I know anyone with a time later than 9:15 did not get
a patch but if you came in earlier and didn't get one, just contact Daisy so she
can get your one. So please help us
out. If you
see information that you know is incorrect and can help us find the correct information, please
email Daisy at
DaisyBRider@cs.com.
Thanks to the Birds Eye View, photos
from Suck Creek Mountain and Burkhalter Gap are available at their web site
www.birdseyeview.net. They are listed
by time and include instructions on how to purchase. Steve Thomas, one of our members, has
taken some great candid shots from the start and various places on the course.
They are digital this year so will be easier to get out on this site. If anyone has any pictures of the
ride and can send them to me, we would love to include them on this site.
Results are still under construction and
will be added as built.
Remember, this is all in fun. The object is to enjoy the ride.
Congratulations! to all who survived
the 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge!
