CBC General Meeting Minutes
February 21, 2005
1 Attendance
The meeting of the Chattanooga
Bicycle Club was held at 6:00 pm at the Chattanooga Downtown YMCA.
The meeting was called to order by
Jim Lemons, CBC President. Introduction were made and welcome was extended to
all present. The January minutes were approved.
2 Business

3 Finance Committee Report
The Finance Committee Report was given by Chris
Dohmen, CBC VP. Jenny Berni, Joe Nivert, and Todd Duff will serve on the
committee. They will come up with accountability guidelines. Tax liability will
be explored. An accountant will be consulted as needed on these issues.
Potential cost to CBC will be evaluated as more information is known. The
question of insurance coverage for CBC owned equipment was raised. This will be
further investigated by David Ward and Chris Dohmen to assure appropriate
coverage.
4 Treasurer's Report
The Treasurer's report was given by George Perry.
The 2004 Treasurers Report was submitted with a disclaimer for Jan. and Feb. of
2004 as he was not treasurer during those months. The treasurer's report was
accepted by all present.
5 Event Coordinator Report
The Events Coordinator Report was given by David
Ward. The purchase of a roll-around cart was approved. The 3-State 3-Mountain
Challenge will be held May 7th. It will be hosted at Finley Stadium as the Four
Bridges Art Festival will be held at Cricket Pavilion simultaneously. CBC is
working closely with the Art Festival to assure coordination of events is
mutually complimentary.
Route changes were announced. New sponsors
announced: Outdoor Chattanooga; Explor Magazine; Chattem Drugs; Kelly
Cadillac/Subaru; Liberty Safe. Days Inn and Staybridge Suites will again
offer discounted rates.
6 Membership Committee Report
The membership report was given by Tom Ingledew.
Efforts continue to encourage lapsed membership renewal and new memberships.
7 CBC Jersey Repot
Amy French reported on the CBC club jerseys. There
are about 25 jerseys left for sale. A re-order will be taken in the near future.
8 Bylaws Committee Report
The bylaws committee report was given by George
Perry in the absence of David Blackwell. A motion was made and approved to
accept the Conflict of Interest Policy. David Blackwell is consulting attorney
to assure sign-in sheet cover liability for ride leader and club. Daisy has made
changes on website to reflect Inc. status.
9 Bike to Work
A Bike to Work report was given by Daisy Blanton in
Colleen Carboni's absence. The 1st Friday in May will be the kick-off.
Support/participation was encouraged.
10 Education Director Report
Education Director Report was given by Cheryl
Shouse. The Bike Rodeo will take place on May 21. Volunteers are encouraged. The
Road 1 LAB Course will be offered on April 16-17 and May 14-15. A Boy Scout bike
safety training program is being planned by Cheryl and David Ward. The Girl
Scouts are being approached as well.
